Widows' relief outreach at kuntasi

The Story

Location: Kuntasi, Kumasi
Program: Food Security
Status: Ongoing

Widows often face sudden financial hardship and the burden of providing for their families alone, with limited support and few opportunities. What was once a shared responsibility became a daily struggle for survival, making access to basic needs—and especially education for their children—a distant hope without external support.

On countless mornings, widows rise before sunrise, carrying the weight of both grief and responsibility. With quiet strength, they prepare their children for the day ahead—often walking long distances, hand in hand, holding on to hope despite uncertain circumstances.

“I never thought this day would come,” one mother whispers, watching her child step through the school gate. For years, education felt out of reach. Yet in that moment, standing at the threshold of opportunity, hope replaces hardship, and a new story begins.

“When my child put on that uniform, I felt something shift inside me. For so long, I carried the weight of doing everything alone, unsure of what tomorrow would bring. But in that moment, it felt like a quiet reassurance from God—that our story is not over. It is only just beginning.”

How it started.

Through your generosity, we were able to reach widows and their families with meaningful support—providing essential items, easing daily burdens, and helping children return to school. Beyond the donations, your kindness restored dignity, renewed hope, and reminded them they are not alone. Each act of giving is creating lasting impact and opening the door to a more hopeful future.

What we changed.

Together, we changed more than circumstances—we changed outlooks. What was once uncertainty has become hope, and where there were barriers, there are now opportunities. Families are regaining stability, children are back in school, and widows are finding strength to move forward with renewed confidence and dignity.
